Wes Golden

Montgomery County Mayor

Wes Golden was elected to serve as Mayor in August 2022. Wes was born and raised in Montgomery County, where he lives with his wife Sara and children Nash, Lydia, and Mia. He is a Clarksville High School (Go Wildcats!) graduate and studied computer science at Austin Peay State University. Wes has vast experience in both the public and private sectors, providing a vision for success in each position. As the environmental health manager for a tier II automotive manufacturer, Wes managed the safety and health of more than 14,000 employees and reduced safety incidents by 50%. Wes served as the Health and Safety Manager for Clarksville, managing the City’s occupational health and safety program, significantly improving the safety and security of the 13 City Departments. Raised to give back to others and committed to the success of our community, Wes has dedicated his life to the people of Montgomery County. As a young man, Wes volunteered with the Dream Factory and Bikers Who Care, two local charitable organizations that work to improve the lives of local children. His call to service has been a significant focus throughout his life, where Wes served as a firefighter and EMT, making the community safer for the citizens of Montgomery County. In 2016, he was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by the Clarksville YMCA. Wes has also volunteered for organizations such as the Montgomery County Veterans Coalition, Kiwanis, Urban Ministries, Friends of Dunbar Cave, and the Montgomery County Soccer Association. Wes, Sara, and family are members of LifePoint Church.
