Montgomery County Party Chairman

Doug is the son of an Air Force Vietnam veteran / Aerospace Engineer living in multiple locations followed by serving 33 years in the United States Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 5.  He enlisted as an Army A&P aircraft mechanic and crew chief for 6 years before attending flight school.  He flew CH-47Ds in Korea, Germany, and numerous combat zones. Doug spent 22 years flying in special operations as a master aviator, flight lead and strategic planner primarily flying the MH-47E/G. In his last duty assignment, he was the Senior Warrant Officer advisor to the Secretary of the Army for Talent Management in the Pentagon.  He has an extensive tactical and operational planning background and was the most decorated aviator in DoD at his retirement in 2020.  He is rated as an instructor/standardization pilot in numerous military/civilian rotary wing and fixed wing aircraft with over 8,000 hours total time and have logged over 2,500 combat missions. Doug entered politics as a Tennessee State Senator candidate in 2020 with deep involvement with the GOP since 1986.  He serves as your District 22 SEC committeeman and has been a Montgomery County resident since 1998 with his wife Tina.  They have four children with four grandchildren. Doug earned his bachelor’s degree in professional aeronautics from Embry Riddle University and is a Graduate of the Army Senior Executive Staff course.  To add, Doug is an FAA rated CFI, CFII, Commercial pilot and A&P.
