Chris Lanier, a local business owner, has announced his candidacy for Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board, District 6.
A native of Clarksville, Lanier is the owner of Lanier Lawn & Landscape, a 24-year-old local business. Born and raised in Clarksville, Lanier attended Norman Smith Elementary, graduated from Clarksville High School, and earned his degree in Agriculture from Austin Peay State University. He is also a Leadership Clarksville Class of 2023 graduate.
Lanier’s wife, Carrie, is a first grade teacher at Rossview Elementary School, his mother served as a teacher and retired as the counselor of Sango Elementary, and Chris himself has actively contributed to educational initiatives, including serving as a Partner in Education and serving through the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville’s effort to donate nearly 4,000 books to students through the CMCSS Education Foundation.
“As a father and business owner deeply invested in the future of our community, I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board District 6,” Lanier said. “I am committed to working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and community leaders to ensure our schools provide a nurturing and innovative learning environment for every child.”
Lanier said progress for Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools requires tangible, fiscally responsible programs, and he pledges transparency and openness. He said he is determined to fight for the children’s right to quality education and ensure educators and staff are equipped with the tools they need.
